LEISTON U23’s head to Harwich & Parkeston on Saturday for their next game in the Thurlow Nunn First Division North. Harwich are third at present, five points off Haverhill Rovers in top spot but they have a game in hand.
Leiston U23’s remain 11th and are nearly at the halfway point of their league campaign.
The U23’s (then Reserves) first met Harwich & Parkeston in September 2022 in Suffolk, with the team drawing 1-1. Konnor Fletcher was on target for the Blues while Gareth Heath, who made nearly 350 appearances for Leiston between 2010 and 2017, equalised in the second half. Later that season, Dan Keeble’s goal was enough for the Essex side to win 1-0 in front of a crowd of 170.
The sides met on the opening day of the campaign at Harwich in the 2023/2024 season, with Harwich winning 3-2. Joe McNeil got two for Leiston while Jay-Louis Eggerichs, Dan Keeble and Luke Mayhew all netted for hosts. In the return fixture in December 2023, Harwich won 3-0, Luke Mayhew (2) and Liam White both scoring.
The U23s return to home action next weekend (Saturday 16th November) when they host Holland FC.
