THE Blues U23’s head to FC Peterborough for the final game of September this afternoon.
Their 3-0 home win on Tuesday night in front of 61 spectators against Needham Market Reserves saw the side move up four places into 8th position. The U23’s have now won six of their opening 11 league games. The side are eight points better off than what they were at this stage last season.
FC Peterborough are currently 11th, winning five, losing five and drawing one of their eleven league games to date.
Last season, the sides met for the first ever time in November 2023. The U23’s won 4-1 as Charlie Atkin (2), Emille Dozzell and Eddie Jackson all netted while Niall Burnage scored for the FC Peterborough.
However, towards the end of last season, FC Peterborough won in Suffolk as a double from Abulai Vas Ferreira Sanha and a David Yisah goal devoted the points. Charlie Atkin was again on target for Leiston. FC Peterborough finished in 11th placed last season.
