LEISTON U23’s will look to add to their points tally on Wednesday evening when they go in search of a result in Norfolk at Dussindale & Hellesdon Rovers.
Saturday’s 2-1 win at Pinchbeck United for the young Blues, a first-ever meeting between the two sides, saw Neil Smye’s side move up to 5th in the table. Defeat for the U23s against Diss Town in their first game has been followed by wins against Haverhill Borough, Framlingham Town, Whittlesey Athletic and Pinchbeck.
Mackenzie Travis has netted four goals while Mitchell Jackson helped booster the squad on Saturday and scored a free kick late on.
Leiston also had Charlie Atkin back at the weekend. The striker has been out injured since scoring in the 1-0 win at Halesworth Town in pre-season. Charlie scored 22 goals last season and will look to have another good campaign this time around.
Meanwhile, the Blues opponents on Wednesday night, Dussindale are currently 12th, winning two and losing three of their opening five games.
The U23’s see out the month with a home game against FC Parson Drove on Saturday afternoon before travelling to Stanway Pegasus on Saturday 31st August. (Both games kick off at 3pm).
Also this midweek, Diss Town travel to Swaffham Town in league action while Holbeach United host Pinchbeck United.
