OVERVIEW
THE Blues host Halesowen Town in their penultimate home game of the season on Saturday afternoon, 3pm kick-off, writes Craig Cooper.
Blues keeper Billy Johnson has had his red card rescinded after being sent off last weekend at Stourbridge so will be in the squad for the game.
Halesowen Town are currently 4th in the Southern League Central Premier division, four points off the top. They are serious promotion contenders. The teams drew 1-1 at the start of September at Halesowen Town. Lusiama put the hosts ahead three minutes into the second half but Blues sub Kyran Clements levelled on 85 minutes to take a point back to Suffolk.
PREVIOUS MEETINGS
THE sides met in Suffolk in October 2018 for their first-ever meeting, with Leiston winning 4-0. Jake Reed, Byron Lawrence, Matt Blake and Christy Finch were on target that day.
Halesowen were relegated that season and the teams didn’t meet again until last campaign, when the Blues won 2-1 in March 2024. Ashley Boatswain netted two goals in the second half and although defender Adam Bailey-Dennis put through his own net late on, Leiston held on to win the match.
