BLUES head coach Lee Norfolk says the team will continue to push all the way for a play-off place as the season hits the final straight.
Leiston are currently four points off a play-off spot, although that will be six if Harborough pick up a win at Bromsgrove Sporting on Tuesday night (25th).
With the top four all looking good for a play-off place at the very least, Norfolk says the Blues must pick up as many of the 18 points left available – starting with Saturday’s home clash with second-placed Bedford Town.
“We simply have to pick up as many of those 18 points as possible,” Norfolk said.
“For me, there are five teams in with a chance of that final play-off place, of which we’re one of them. I think the top four are there, but not necessarily in the order they currently are in. And of course, there will be more twists to come.
“Be assured we will keep pushing all the way in.”
The Blues grabbed a deserved point at Alvechurch on Saturday – a point that could well have been three, according to Norfolk.
“Our first half domination meant we should have been in a more commanding position than just the one goal up at half-time,” he said.
“It was always precarious because we expected a reaction from them, and we got one. We had to defend well, and it took a special moment for them to beat Billy (Johnson).”
After Saturday’s game with Bedford Town, there will be a Sports Quiz in the bar, open to all. After the success of the Horse Racing Night, it should be another fun event.
