This week, we pay tribute to one of our longest serving volunteers. After years of selfless service to the Club, Jill has stepped down from the media department to focus on her family and home life.

Jill has been one of the cornerstone members of the football club, having been involved for over 25 years in different roles, showing versatility and loyalty to keep the club running on and off the pitch.

During her time at the Club, Jill has been:

Minute Secretary for Committee & Finance Board
Halftime hospitality food coordinator and baking on the rota
Occasional kit washerwoman
Long suffering assistant & support to husband and fellow long serving hero, Peter Douglass.

Andy Crisp, the Club's Chairman said, "I’m sure everyone at the club will join me in thanking Jill for all her hard work in her numerous roles at Leiston FC, since her retirement from the school she has been very supportive and always puts the interest of the club first and foremost. I understand Jill will still be assisting with refreshments for home Reserve matches which again is very much appreciated."

Jill is a rare breed in the modern world of football and epitomises everything Leiston FC is about...so it goes without saying that although this may be a farewell to your day to day contribution, you will always remain a part of the Leiston FC family..so from the Chairman, the board, the playing and coaching staff, fellow volunteers, past and present....Thank you for everything you have contributed.
