The Pitching In Southern Football League Constitution for the 2024/25 season has been confirmed.

The FA recently announced the new league structures for the 2024/2025 season. Leiston remain in the Southern League for what will be a seventh season in the Premier Division Central. The Blues will welcome three new sides to the Watson & Hilhouse Stadium in Bishops Stortford, Harborough Town and Spalding Town. We will also see four Suffolk derbies next season as we face AFC Sudbury and Lowestoft Town.

The end of last season saw Leamington and Needham Market promoted with Berkhamsted, Hitchin Town and Long Eaton United relegated along with Nuneaton Borough who resigned from the league early 2024. Beaten play off semi finalists Mickleover have seen a sideways move to the Northern Premier League Premier Division.

Bishops Stortford arrive having been relegated from the National North last season. The two sides have only ever met once before in a competitive match, an FA Trophy Second Round tie in November 2021 that the Hertfordshire side won 5-1. Spalding United won the Northern Premier League Midland Division title with Harborough Town gaining promotion from the same division via the play offs after finishing third. Returning to the Division are relegated from the National North, Banbury United who won the Southern League Premier Division Central in 2021/2022, Southern League Division One Central winners Biggleswade Town who were relegated from the Premier Division Central in 2021/2022 and play off winners Bedford Town who return after relegation in 2022/2023. Isthmian League North winners Lowestoft Town make up the quartet and return to Step Three after two years away.

Leiston will travel just over 5500 miles overall next season, 450 miles down on last season. AFC Telford United will be the furthest trip at 203 miles with Lowestoft Town the shortest at just over 23 miles.
