Ex Blues boss Steve Ball appointed Colchester United manager

Former Leiston boss Steve Ball has been appointed as manager of League Two club Colchester United. Ball first joined Leiston in the summer of 2010 as Mark Morsley’s Assistant and helped the club win back to back promotions as they won the Ridgeons Premier Division and Ryman Division One North. He left in 2012 to take up a position at Colchester United but came back in October 2013 to first assist Steve Pitt but then took over the reigns within a month. Ball led Leiston to a 9th placed finish that season and left to go back to Colchester United in October 2014, with Leiston in the play-offs at the time. Ball has been John McGreal’s Assistant of the first team for the past couple of seasons.

Everyone at Leiston FC wishes Steve all the best in his new role.
