The Blues U23’s put in a good display but could only come away with a point against Essex club Wivenhoe Town this evening.
After a goalless opening half, Jack Manly fired Leiston ahead two minutes after the break but after having more chances to extend their lead, Wivenhoe levelled when substitute Orland Tene shot home on 72 minutes.
Referee Thomas Ling played 11 minutes of stoppages as Wivenhoe player Charlie Ellis-Hall had to be stretchered off.
The result leaves Leiston’s second string one place above Haverhill Borough and one point behind Wivenhoe Town.
The Blues U23’s now head to 12th placed Holland on Saturday (3pm kick off) for their next game.
