THE BLUES have been dealt a double injury blow.
Both Eddie Jackson and Wyatt Hill spent part of the weekend at hospital after the win over St Ives Town on Saturday, a win that took the team up to eighth in the Southern League Premier Central division table.
Hill suffered a heavy concussion and loss of consciousness early in the second half after a clash. He spent Saturday evening at Hinchingbrooke Hospital and underwent a CT scan.
Fortunately, it was all clear and he was allowed home. However, he will now follow a concussion protocol to return to play, but will likely be out for a few weeks.
Meanwhile, Jackson suffered an ankle injury. He also took a trip to hospital, The James Paget, where an x-ray revealed a probable fracture to the fibula, and ligament damage.
Jackson will be reviewed by the orthopaedic department but is likely to face a few months on the sidelines.
Best wishes to both players on a quick and full recovery.
This weekend, Leiston head to leaders Kettering in another league clash, hoping to keep their seven-game unbeaten league run intact.
