BLUES head coach Lee Norfolk is looking for his side to go on another unbeaten run as AFC Telford head to the Watson & Hillhouse Stadium this Saturday, 3pm kick-off.
Telford are currently in third place in the Southern League Premier Central division table, chasing Kettering and Halesowen. Leiston are 10th and just two points off the play-offs.
“It’s important to stay unbeaten as long as you can as it breeds confidence,” Norfolk said.
“We’ve had one good run, so we push again. It was good to get back to winning ways against Lowestoft on Tuesday night, and now we want to take something from Telford.
“Their form is good, like ours, so we have no reservations about the game.
“We didn’t deserve to leave Kettering with nothing. I thought we were excellent, but a loose ball fell kindly to one of their players five yards out. They are the sort of moments of luck you get at the top.”
Norfolk knows his team are attractive to watch. But he also wants there to be a degree of ruthlessness among the squad on the pitch.
“Nobody has outplayed us this season,” Norfolk added.
“Our style is good on the eye, but we must continue to have that sting. Everyone has worked hard to make sure we are not classed as just another attractive footballing team with a soft underbelly.”
Meanwhile, speaking in this weekend’s Leiston Matchday programme, which is available at the ground on Saturday, manager Chris Wigger said about AFC Telford.
“It’s going to be a tough test, no doubt.
“They are a very organised side, they like to put pressure on from the start, will likely have their full-backs high and look to pin us in. I like a battle of tactics and always feel we can match anyone on our day in that department.”
