Blues midfielder Jack Ainsley has left Victory Road

Blues midfielder Jack Ainsley has left Victory Road and joined Bostik League newcomers Felixstowe & Walton United. The former Ipswich Town trainee joined the Blues from fellow Suffolk side Lowestoft Town in February 2016 but despite scooping a host of end of season awards, the versatile Ainsley is set to drop down a Division after the two sides agreed a deal.

The club had received an enquiry from Felixstowe & Walton United as to the availability of Jack Ainsley. As is the club policy, they will always inform players if any firm offers are received in order to avoid them finding out from other sources. On being told of Felixstowe & Walton United’s interest Jack indicated to the club that he would like to join Felixstowe & Walton United as it is his home town club but understood that if an acceptable deal could not be reached with them he would stay and continue to give 100% for next season. However, come the end of next season (2018/19) when his contract had finished he would not sign a new contract and would join Felixstowe & Walton United. After much discussion between Blues Manager Glenn Driver and the clubs Financial Board, it was agreed that if a suitable deal could be reached that the club were happy with, then the club would allow Jack to move to Felixstowe & Walton United. After lengthy negotiations between Leiston and Felixstowe & Walton United the club has received an offer that they feel is acceptable for a player of his quality and Jack has agreed personal terms with Felixstowe & Walton United United.

The club would like to thank Jack for his tremendous efforts whilst with the Blues and wish him the very best of luck for the future.
