Tony Kinsella has left Leiston after 3 seasons at the club. Tony took charge for Saturday's Evo-Stik Southern Premier Central Division match at Stratford Town but decided to stand down after the weekend's match.
Tony said of his departure: - 'I have really enjoyed my time at Leiston, but I felt as I came with Glen, I should leave with him also. I believe Leiston have lost the best young manager in Suffolk, as Glen took Leiston to a 7th placed finish in his first season, and last year become the first manager to win the Suffolk Premier Cup for Leiston as well as ending up in the play-offs meaning Leiston achieved their best ever finish. We leave an excellent squad of players and I personally would like to thank the club officials, volunteers, other management teams and supporters for making us feel welcome to the club. I wish Leiston every success in the future, and hope to pop and watch some matches later in the season.
Everyone at Leiston Football Club would like to thank both Glen and Tony on all their hard work they have put in. They have managed the Reserves and U18's as well and helped set up the youth sections of the club. We wish them all the best in the future.
Reserve manager Ian Cornforth will take charge of the first team for Tuesday night's away league fixture at St Ives Town.
