LEISTON U23s progressed to the second round of the Suffolk Senior Cup with a 1-0 win over high-flying SIL Senior Division side Old Newton.

Charlie Atkin kept his cool from the penalty spot to give the Blues a 1-0 half-time lead, and that's the way it stayed as the Blues, who were beaten finalists last season, made their passage into the next round.

On Tuesday night, the U23s are in action once more, against Needham Market Reserves at Victory Road, in a league encounter, 7.45pm kick-off.
